What a difference a day makes...
Whilst I’m keen to stress that this blog won’t be a daily photo gallery recording pots of soil and minute growth spurts, I wanted to add a brief entry for today remarking on the incredible progress of the runner beans in just 24 hours. Still no signs of life on the ol’ carrot front…
I'm doing some work for The Big Lunch at the moment. Have you considered setting up a street party for July 19th? You could share your yield with your neighbours and maybe get them involved with your project in the future. If you're interested the website is here www.thebiglunch.com
Good luck to you and lets hope those carrots emerge soon.
I find that carrots take a while to germinate - mine are certainly being very dillatory. How big is your balcony? Your tomatoes should be fine as long as you don't put them out too soon. I wish you the best of luck with your project and I will follow it with interest
The balcony is approximately 8 feet by 2 feet - not big by any stretch of the imagination. I'm utilising the balcony windowsill as a sort of 'greenhouse' area - the tomatoes seem happy enough there - no sign of carrots yet!
It certainly looks very encouraging.
